The Night Bowlers dressed up for Christmas and played two games of eight ends to do a program catchup. Marg Nietschke, Liz Kleinig and Pam Kleinig provided a festive supper while Rhonda Horne ran around selling bats for the chocolate wheel. The meal voucher winner was Soupy Hines, and the wine Ron Milde. Night Bowls will resume on January 6th.
The Ladies played Angaston at home and lost 48-57 with two draws and a loss. Joy Hams had a draw with Eileen Argent 15-15, Ruth Scoot drew with Faye Bain 20-20, however Judy Milde was down to Mavis Elsworthy 13-22.
Thursday Afternoon Division 1 played Angaston at Angaston and were outclassed. Murray Sauer, Preston Eva and Geoff Schmidt were down to David Jaunay, Brian Teakle and Jono Voigt.
Thursday’s Division 2 played Lyndoch on our home turf and were also down 45-67. Ron Milde, Maurice Nietschke and Ron Hams succumbed to Brian Koch, G. Mattingly and Dave Boswell, however Ron Hams had a tight 18-21 match.
Division 1 played a confident side in Lyndoch after their victory against Angaston the week before. Even though on our home turf and keeping pace in the first half, Eudunda conceded 78-112. Murray Sauer bowled well against Harry Sykes, Bill Mader and his team, in particular his leader Bob Leditschke put the pressure on, only to have shots taken away by Wayne Williams; Tait Rogers’ team bowled well finishing just four shots short of Tony Drummond, and Chris Jones started well and looked like carrying the side until Darren Greens’ dream team found their straps and scraped in by two shots.
Division 2A were compromised by Angaston with Ruth Scoot, Greg Post and Ron Hams playing Chris Reardon, Brian Teakle and David Wilson, then coming home to have a few sherbets at the Bowling Club Christmas dinner.
Division 3 had a bye.
The Team of the Week was Joy Hams, Pam Dutschke, Marg Nietschke and Betty Pfitzner.
Over forty bowlers, together with family and friends enjoyed Christmas dinner at the clubhouse. A comprehensive raffle was drawn, and the first club draw took place.
Bowlers are urged to continue playing Club Championship competitions over the Christmas break.
