Many Gather For Robertstown Primary School’s 100 Years Celebration
What a pleasant day weather wise blessed the many people who came to celebrate the Robertstown Primary School turning 100 on Sunday 16 April 2023
Proceedings were compressed into a short day held from 10:30am to 2pm, at the school on Corey Street, Robertstown, so that most would also be able to combine the 100th Anniversary of the Robertstown Hall into the same day, making great economy for those travelling long distances. Some former students came from Interstate to attend.
It was a busy schedule of registering arrival, photos and official proceedings with speeches, the launch of the recipe book and the opening of the time capsule.
One highlight was the opening of the Time Capsule. The capsule was buried 25 years earlier when Richard Schmidt was a student SRC reprentative at the scool and he helped with burying the capsule.
The contents of the Time Capsule was on display in the Library, and provided a great look back into the school lives of the students and teachers 25 years earlier.
Richard had great pleasure in handing on the responsibility to the schools newest SRC representative for 2023, Louisa Royce.
It was a day for catching up with old school mates and teachers, telling yarns and remembering the stories of being young. Many who attended had not caught up with some people since they had left school, so there were many special moments.
