Truro and Districts Raceway Season Starts With Practice on Sunday 10th April
Truro and Districts Raceway President Kym Huxtable says,
“Race season is almost here!! As usual, we will start our race season with a practice day on Sunday 10th April. ”
The gates will open at about 9am. There is no site entry fee on practice day.
All Welcome to come and see what TDR is all about
Kym pointed out that they need their race officials present on this day, as it is the same as a normal race day.
Recent emails from TDR Secretary Jane Ferrari, asked all members to spread the word about TDR to friends, family, work mates, relations – in fact, anyone that would listen, with the idea of that is to get them to come on out to see what we are all about.
Kym explained,
“As we have to limit who can be present in the pits area (drivers, 2 pit crew members per car and TDR officials only), we will have a couple of race cars on display at various times near the canteen building so anyone interested can have a look and ask questions of the driver.
They might even be able to sit in the car and have their photo taken, that may especially interest the kids – big and small.
Kym also addressed Member drivers about their 2022 TDR membership fee and other administration paperwork and fees (see the post).
“It may be that some visitors on the day might be interested in doing some laps in a race car, That will give them the opportunity to experience dirt circuit racing from a driver perspective”.
If they have access to race car from a kind and agreeable race car owner, along with the required safety gear and ambulance cover, they can do that under controlled conditions. To facilitate that – instead of paying the normal $25 day membership that would be applicable during a normal racing season – those drivers will just need to pay the $10 practice fee plus a $15 day membership fee. That will give them the opportunity to experience dirt circuit racing from a driver perspective.
This year over the long weekend in October – TDR will host Round 2 of the ADCCSA State Titles.
All 9 state wide clubs will be present and if you have not attended a state title before – it’s a great weekend. (More on that later this year.)
To finish off Kym had these final words,
“So, lets start the year off with a big turnout of race cars, friends, family and the like to get our year rolling!! See you there.”
NOTE: Scrutineering will commence at about 9am. Race cars can be on the track from 10am. Practice day will end at about 2pm.
