Last Sunday, 25th August, eighteen teams converged on Eudunda for the Mitev Family Day. The windy, cool weather did not deter the warm atmosphere of the day. This year the club supported Parkinson’s SA with a substantial donation to a worthy cause.

President Mally Schutz welcomed everyone emphasizing the charity to which the day was supporting. Tournament director Ron Milde started the day on a light-hearted note with a joke, thanked the sponsors, followed by the conditions of play.

The Mitev family members had a team included in the competition with George at the helm! Because the Mitev’s originate from Macedonia, Pam Dutschke thought it appropriate to decorate the tables with red roses and yellow daffodils, and red and yellow serviettes, being the colours on the Macedonian flag.

The bowlers had their hunger satisfied with barbequed chicken schnitzels, sausages (ably cooked by barbeque chef Lumpy) and salad, with bread -and -butter pudding for dessert.

After a well-supported raffle, Patron Bob Leditschke presented the prizes to the winners. The winners of the first round were Saddleworth team, second round winners Balaklava and third round winners Tanunda.
