Attendees at the breakfast were a diverse group with council staff, elected member, local female business owners, amazing volunteers, women new to the town and ones who have lived here their whole life.

Inspirational stories were shared by local business women Margaret Doecke and Judy Partington.

Margaret Doecke has owned a fabric shop, Country Fabric’s N Things in Bruce Street, the main street of Eudunda for almost 30 years, and has continued to serve on many community committees.

The mornings celebrations being held at the Eudunda RSL Rooms saw women who were attending their first International Women’s Day celebration along with veterans of the event all together, all embracing the sister hood.

Deb Koodrin of Kookys Katering provided the food and prepared a fabulous breakfast of pancakes with a local fruit compote and cream. Deb and Lina Williams gave their services for free.

Volunteers worked behind the scenes, all the gifts and prizes were donated. The Tim Siv’s TerryWhite Chemmart and Eudunda Family Heritage Gallery were much appreciated sponsors.

Here’s to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.
