Last Tuesday 18th February, Eudunda Bowling Club hosted the President’s Fours Challenge in ideal weather conditions. Despite a few entries less than in previous years, the day was full on in atmosphere and camaraderie. President Mally Schutz welcomed all players before handing over to Tournament Director Ron Milde who acknowledged the valuable sponsors and outlined the conditions of play.

A great day of competition ensued, interspersed with laughter, friendly rivalry and a well-received lunch served by the Eudunda ladies. A well-stocked raffle table was supported generously by the bowlers with many lucky bowlers going home with a prize!

The first game winners were Saddleworth’s Malcolm Schupelius, Brenton Schoenberg, Chris Mosey and Trevor Reichelt, second game winners were Des Schiller’s mob of Ian Jaensch, Neil Jaensch and Roger Mattschoss, and the third game winners were Brighton etc’s ‘old Eudunda faithfuls’ of Trevor Clark, Rob ‘Stoop’ Thiele, Peter ‘Wormy’ Schultz, and Graham MacNamara.

The overall winners of the day were Eudunda’s Andrew ‘Frankie’ Pfitzner, Mally Schutz, Bill Mader and Geoff Schmidt, and runners-up Peterborough’s Trevor Philp, David Chambers, Don Burnell and Gary Brakenridge.
