The ladies had a bye

Thursday afternoon Men’s pennants Eudunda Division 1 played Tanunda at Tanunda and went down 53-98. Murray Sauer started well against Tony Edwards but the closing stages was a different story 21-38, Preston Eva finished 22-30 against Neil Stewart , and Geoff Schmidt was wanting against Dave Martin 10-30.

Thursday afternoon Division 2 won against Nuriootpa Black on the home turf 67-62. Bob Leditschke contributed well to the win by defeating Peter Buckley 30-17, Ron Hams overcame Kingsley Bullock 22-20, while Roy Fiegert was covered by his team mates in his loss to Peter Flynn 15-25.

Members gathered Saturday morning for an official photo taken by ‘The Leader’ photographer as a feature to celebrate the 95th birthday of the Eudunda Bowling Club. A pie/pasty lunch was provided for the bowlers before the afternoon matches.

Saturday’s Division 1 played Tanunda on Eudunda’s home turf and were down overall to the visitors 89-96. Frankie Pfitzner had a great win 29-14 to Neil Stewart, Tait Rogers and his young guns defeated Dave Martin 24-22, Chris Jones had a tussle against Tim Liersch 18-26, while Geoff Schmidt’s highlight against Tony Edwards was ‘getting a five’ when his bowl rebounded off the bank!

Division 2A travelled to Tanunda and encountered stiff opposition going down 64-91. However, all teams competed well with Ron Hams against David Armstrong, Kiwi against Bernie Wallace, and Tony Scoot against Jeff Garrett.

Division 3 played Angaston at Eudunda and won 55-45. Roy Fiegert won 22-13 against Mark Blenkiron, Pat Obst kept up her winning streak 19-11 against A. Brunton, and these were enough to cover Jeff Willoughby’s loss to Faye Bain.

The Team of the Week was Andrew ‘Frank’ Pfitzner, David Prior, Ted Schiller and Murray Sauer.
Gordon ‘Kiwi’ Te.Au completed and passed a Markers/Measurers Course at Tanunda last Sunday – well done Kiwi!
