It was George Mitev’s lucky night last Tuesday at Night Bowls because he won the raffle and was in the team that won the night, together with his team mates Pam Dutschke and Coral Schutz. Greg Prior, Murray Sauer and Trevor Prior (who bowled very well) won by two shots in a fun close encounter against Judy Milde, Wendy Schmidt and Rob Cavanagh (new skipper material). Mally Schutz and Janice Henderson drew their pairs game with Bob Leditschke and Katrina Turner.

There were no Thursday pennant games due to Country Round Robin, however a few club championship games were played on the free Thursday. The Round Robin results were very pleasing with both the Men and Women of our Region 4 winning the State competition.

Division 1 played Kapunda under the roof and had a very close encounter 93-97. Bill Mader faced Greg Cruickshank in a nail-biter 23-24, Tait Rogers played the formidable Katrina Green 19-34, Aaron Jones was on fire 31-15 against Brett Rowland, and all eyes were on the last team playing on the green being Kym ‘Chucka’ Schutz against Martin Dew to determine who won the day. Unfortunately, Chucka finished 20-24.

Division 3 played Kapunda Black on Eudunda’s green and won by one shot in a cliff-hanger. Ron Hams ‘got a four’ on the last end to draw with Greg Thomson 20 shots each, Gordon ‘Kiwi’ Teau had a strong finish against Peter Flowers 25-19. Ruth Scoot and her team were out-bowled by Teresa Krause 16-21, but managed a score of one shot on the last end to clinch the win!

Division 4 played Kapunda Black at Eudunda and had a massive win 62-23. Roy Fiegert had a day to remember when his team had an unbelievable 30-0 lead by the 16th end, and finished 38-3 at the 21st end, and Pam Dutschke won 24-20 against Ron Rodgers.

Consequently, the Team of the Week was Roy Fiegert, Ted Bowden, Joy Fiegert and Colin Menz with their amazing 35-shot win.

Eudunda is hosting the Open Fours Tournament on Tuesday 20th February.
