Twelve brave and handsome young boys proudly partnered the beautiful Princesses, ensuring each girl experienced a very special night focused on themselves. The Debutantes were introduced by Master of Ceremonies Mr Daniel Rowett and presented on stage to invited dignitaries.

MP Miss Penny Pratt with Mr Andrew Partiginton and wife Councillor Mrs Judy Partington, of Eudunda greeted the debutantes on stage before the couples were presented to the community. The dignitaries shed a few tears at the significance of the event for the children and their families.

The couples danced beautifully together to “perfect Symphony” by Ed Sheeran.  Proud Mothers were then asked to join their sons to dance together to “When you Tell Me That You Love Me” by Westlife.  It was then time for the moving Father Daughter dance, “Hallelujah” by Rufus Wainwright.  As some families has multiple daughters as Debutantes, significant others filled in for Fathers – Grand Dads, Uncles, God Fathers and special family friends.

Following the official presentation and dances the audience and guests enjoyed a magnificent supper provided by the catering coordinating geniuses, Michelle Hoffmann and Louise Jenke.

Local Photographer Robyn Bradbrook from Silver Springs Photography volunteered her talent and expertise to capture the evening in picture. It was a wonderful experience and opportunity for families to formally dress up and have family photos.

Alison Schutz (Event Coordinator and Dance Instructor) was extremely pleased with the success of the night.  “So many special memories were made which will be treasured forever.  It’s amazing to watch the self-confidence grow within all the Debutantes over the weeks of training.  I particularly enjoy being involved and closely observing the girl’s excitement and pleasure at being Princesses for the night.”

For anyone interested there is vast collection including photos and newspaper clippings of past Eudunda Debutante Balls housed at the Eudunda Family Heritage Gallery.

The Eudunda Community Preschool Centre would like to thank everyone involved in creating this special event for the children and families within our community.
