The Kapunda Winter Cup has coincided with the Eudunda Social Bowls over the last six weeks (Kapunda has three weeks to go ), and both Eudunda men’s and women’s have won three and lost three matches. Last Friday Eudunda men ( pictured) won their match against Lyndoch, and Eudunda women lost to Lyndoch.
As the beginning of the season is looming, there is more intense activity at the club. The Bowling Club will play host to St. John’s Primary School students learning to play bowls as part of their sports curriculum. On Tuesdays for four weeks, Physical Education teacher Jo Summerton in conjunction with Bowling Club President Mally Schutz, coach Chris Jones and other bowling club helpers will co-ordinate Year 3/4 and 5/6 students in the game of bowls.
Please put your names on the sheet in the clubhouse for the Dick Prior Memorial Singles to be held on Sunday 17th September at 10am for 10.30 start. This is a great opportunity for pre-season practise and a chance to get your name on the shield.
Eudunda Bowling Club Open Day is a tournament called the ‘Pie Floater Day’ in honour of the late Tony Scoot, who lost his battle with leukemia. The tournament is at 12.30pm for 1pm start and the pie floater meal will be after the game. All club members are requested to attend as selection will be on that day ready for the beginning of the pennant season. Come along to remember Tony and his passion for the great game of bowls.
