Eudunda Bowling Club – Friday Social Bowls 21st June 2024
Last Friday’s bowlers enjoyed the crisp, fresh air of the shortest day of the year. Eighteen bowlers were on the green with Cadell, Kapunda and Eudunda Clubs represented. Sadly, bowlers were informed that Eudunda bowler Colin Menz had passed away that morning. He had been a loyal supporter of the Eudunda Bowling Club attending all events regularly since joining the club at the beginning of season 2001. Also, a past member, Alan Bonsack passed away the Friday before (June 14th).
Bowler George Mitev has settled into his new home, Eudunda Hostel, and still looks forward to bowling at Eudunda (he wouldn’t miss it for the world!). Peter Dickenson had his first bowling game ‘with his new leg’. The new prosthesis is impressive and bowlers observed ‘Dicko’s’ courage and determination in returning to ‘full-time’ bowls.
After the game, the card draw winners were Phil Gould (Leader), Colleen Gould (Second) and Ron Hams (Skipper). The winners for the day were Greg Prior, Murray Sauer and Steve Condon, with runners-up Ron Hams, Rick Holliday and Rhonda Horne.
The raffle winners were Bob Leditschke, Joy Hams, Lumpy Griffiths, Helen Vater, Ron Milde, George Mitev, Ron Hams, Rhonda Horne, John Greenwood, Judy Milde and Preston Eva.
