Eudunda Bowling Club – First Week Of Friday Social Bowls Celebrated 12th April 2024

Last Friday was the first week of Social Bowls for this winter season. Twenty players turned up in a perfect day of bright sunshine. Bob Leditschke and Helen Vater organised the draw for games, and the raffle prizes. Pam Dutschke brought Betty Pfitzner to join in a social game of bowls.
The winners were Joy Hams, Pat Obst and George Mitev and runners-up were Ted Schiller, Bob Leditschke, Coral Schutz and Joy Fiegert. The raffle winners were John Greenwood ( chook), Coral Schutz ( cheese), Joy Hams ( dozen eggs, donated by Doreen Twartz) and Colin Menz ( chocolate ).

Please keep Sunday 28th April free for a Charity Bowls afternoon, supporting the Heart Foundation and CATCH ( Country Access to Cardiac Health ). This charity has been developed to improve access to cardiac rehabilitation for people living in South Australia. Late last year, two of our bowlers Lumpy Griffiths and Frankie Pfitzner both suffered chest pains, were hospitalised and had stents placed to keep coronary arteries open in emergency operations. These health scares prompted our bowlers to hold this event to support the Heart Foundation and CATCH. Plans are well under way and Lumpy and Frankie’s canvassing for support from family and friends is heartening with a great day expected with both greens full of bowlers, and a hearty barbeque to follow.
