DIT Start Audio Tactile Line Marking At Gawler From Mon 16th October 2023
The Australian and South Australian governments have committed $87.5 million (80:20) to upgrade the Sturt Highway, between Renmark and Gawler, as part of the Roads of Strategic Importance program.
As part of this program, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport will be installing Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM) along the Sturt Highway between Gawler and Renmark.
What is the purpose of Audio Tactile Line Marking?
ATLM is to reduce ‘run-off-road’ or cross carriageway crashes by creating a noise (audio) and vibratory (tactile) warning to road users who have strayed from the road lane.
Works are expected to commence on Monday, 16 October and are scheduled to be completed by mid-November 2023 (weather permitting). Works will be undertaken between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday. Works will commence at Gawler, and progressively move east to Renmark.
The Sturt Highway will remain open to traffic at all times. To safely facilitate these works speed and lane restrictions will be required during working hours, in the vicinity of the works as they move progressively along Sturt Highway.
