Death – Irene Worrall
The Worrall family, Peter, John & Liz wish to inform that their dear Mother Irene of Eudunda passed away peacefully with son John and daughter Liz by her side about noon on the 1st July 2022. She was 97 years old.
Peter Worrall who lives overseas posted this message on Facebook, along with this story,
“Mum’s life was one of service to many people through her chosen vocation as a missionary nurse with the Australian Lutheran Mission from 1952 – 1972. She faced many challenges on her journey to achieve her nursing credentials. And then again as a result of the requirements of remote nursing. In some cases she was the only trained medical person for at least an 8 hour journey.
“She always encouraged us to “put the best construction” onto a given situation. She always tried to see the best in people. And when that did not happen, she never spoke out against the people involved. Gossip was not in her vocabulary.”
The funeral and celebration of Irene’s life will be held at St Peter’s Lutheran Church, Bower at 2pm on Friday 15 July.
