The ladies travelled to Tanunda and competed very strongly with the home side, even though a result of 59-69 was realised. Joy Hams was trailing in a big margin early in the game, but fought back in her usual style to finish 17-23 to Sue Yates; likewise Ruth Scoot encountered tough opposition in Christina Doecke, but getting a five later in the game boosted the confidence which resulted in a four shot deficit 22-26, Doreen Twartz was three shots up going into the last end, but opposing skipper Judy Thompson hit the jack back to their three shots to secure a draw.
The Mid-Week Division 1 side hosted Angaston with some close results. Ian ‘Lumpy’ Griffiths had some brilliant passages of play, but was unable to match Mark Schutz 11-25, Kym ‘Chucka’ Schutz was locked in a tight arm wrestle with Brian Teakle 19-23, and the shining light was Greg Prior victorious against David Jaunay 22-20; the final result 52-68.
Division 2 played Mount Pleasant also at home and won 64-57. All matches were close Murray Sauer just down to Chad Vivian 20-21, Roy Fiegert had a good win 21-17 against Colin Fawcett, and Ron Milde likewise against Bo Hambly 23-19.
Last Saturday, Division 1 hosted Kapunda ending in an upset for Eudunda 73-103. Bill Mader showed his superiority against Brett Rowland winning 19-18, Kym ‘Chucka’ Schutz battled against Sean Knight 19-25, Tait Rogers couldn’t quite crack Adrian Green 21-24, and Aaron Jones faced a brick wall in Katrina Green, going down 14-36.
Division 3 played some new faces at Freeling and were victorious 71-41. Gordon ‘Kiwi’ Teau had a tight tussle and won against Peter Flowers 21-19, Ron Hams kept the lead all day against Teresa Krause 19-12, and Ruth Scoot and her team had a pearler of a day winning 31- 10 against Vicki Ramsey.
Division 4 received a forfeit from Freeling.
The Team of the Week was Ruth Scoot, Joy Hams, Margaret Nietschke and Coral Schutz after bathing in their magnificent win by 21 shots.
