The new pennant season is upon us which brought all ladies teams of the Barossa and Light Association together filling the greens at Tanunda. Eudunda played Freeling and had an excellent start to the season winning 84-28. Ruth Scoot and her team had a pearler of a day against Heather Hancock 30-6, Joy Hams also enjoyed success against Daniela Madalinski winning 29-12, and Doreen Twartz played some amazing shots with a decisive win 25-10 against Leanne Mullins. After the match at a combined meeting of all club’s selectors, the Inter-Association side was decided, which is due to be played at Balaklava on 12th November.

Eudunda Mid-Week Division 1 played Nuriootpa on our greens and were down 51-60. Andrew Swain for Eudunda made his presence felt as skipper 19-12 against Greg Chapman, Aaron Jones had a battle against Brenton Brown 18-23, and Chris Jones 14 to Stuart Forbes 25.

Mid-Week Division 2 encountered a tricky Tanunda White at Tanunda going down 59-72. Preston Eva was pipped on the post by M. Schmidt 21-22, Ron Hams was outclassed by Jim Mullan 16-25, and Ted Schiller was down by a narrow margin 22-25 to David Pech.

Division 1 had a good news story on Saturday toppling last year’s premiers Angaston 87-73. Turtle Curtis performed well in his new uniform to draw with the formidable Matthew Short 22 each, Aaron Jones had a superb day defeating Wayne Newell 26-13, Jimmy Mader delighted the Eudunda side with his performance 23-13 against Ian Elsworthy, while Tait Rogers found it difficult going against Justin Morris 16-25.

Division 2 played Tanunda at Eudunda and went down in a tight match 63-66. There were some surprises during the game which included Ted Schiller losing a ‘seven’ in the latter part of the game to still come out on top 26-24 against Warren Schutz, Rob Cavanagh scored a ‘seven’ and ‘six’ in two consecutive ends, however still went down to the irrepressible Sharon Burgemeister. Michael ‘Doc’ Upton in his skipper role performed well against David Pech 17-18.

Division 3 played Freeling at Eudunda and were outdone 52-60. Pam Dutschke and her team played well to win 24-17 against Ross Wordley, Doreen Twartz won 16-15 against Dan Smith, however Ron Hams could not match Karen Swansen 12-28.

The Team of the Week was Ruth Scoot, Pat Obst, Rhonda Horne and Jane Felby with a massive twenty-four shot win last Thursday.
